  • Optimize application of RPA capable resources
  • Reduce software costs
  • Emphasize standardization and quality over speed
  • Mitigate risks inherent to RPA

Operate & Optimize
COE is established within a policy branch, chief of operations, or chief information officer. Why deploy it?

  • Empower business areas that have resources with the requisite RPA skill set
  • Emphasis on speed over quality
  • Transfers risks inherent to RPA
  • Coper with highly divergent business mission areas that cannot coexist
  • Cope with complexity of technologies that are in silos

  • Business areas have RPA resources available
  • RPA capabilities and tools are business specific
  • Cope with highly divergent business mission areas that cannot coexist
  • Business units are independently responsible for continuous improvement

Selection of an RPA governance model is not a hard science. Above are four common models that can be used as a starting point for your organization. Elements of models can be moved or modified to create your tailored approach. The key is to make sure you adress all concerns in an effective model that is clearly communicated and supported. In some very large organizations, a cascading approach may be employed in which a parent organization owns policy, licenses, and provides resources while highly divergent business units implement a centralized or federated model for Bot life-cycle management.
